Custom acoustic ceiling fins in a commercial interior
Acoustics & Sound

Ceiling Baffles for Commercial Spaces

Vertical acoustic fins suspended overhead, absorbing sound on both faces. We design the layout, verify the ceiling, quote it complete, and install it for projects across the country.

What It Is

When the walls are spoken for, look up.

In open offices, cafes, and lobbies, the walls are glass, windows, or already claimed. The ceiling is the biggest untreated surface in the room. Baffles, suspended vertical panels in felt or wrapped fiberglass, absorb from both faces, so each one works about twice as hard as a flat panel the same size. Repeated fins overhead read as architecture, not treatment.

Baffle projects get quoted because everything depends on what's above: deck height, structure, ductwork, sprinklers, lighting, and how the suspension attaches. Layout density comes from the room's acoustics. The hanging plan comes from your actual ceiling. That starts with a site review, not a catalog order.

Where It Works

Spaces baffles were made for.

Open Offices

Continuous baffle fields knock down the roar without touching a single workstation.

Exposed-Ceiling Spaces

Industrial and open-deck interiors with no grid to work with. Baffles thrive here.

Cafes & Dining Areas

Loud lunch rooms brought back to conversation level, with color overhead as a bonus.

Lobbies & Atriums

High-volume entries where sound bounces until you treat the ceiling.

Gyms & Education

Large rooms with brutal reverberation that wall panels alone can't fix.

Conference & Training Rooms

Direct overhead absorption where speech clarity matters most.

Options & Systems

Baffle systems and design moves.

From straight economical runs to sculpted custom fields. Layout, color, and spacing do as much design work as the product itself.

Linear felt baffle field

Linear Felt Baffles

The workhorse: PET felt fins in continuous rows. Wide color range, durable, efficient per square foot.

Suspended baffle mounting system

Fabric-Wrapped Baffles

Wrapped fiberglass fins where maximum absorption per baffle is the goal.

Sculpted acoustic ceiling system

Shaped & Sculpted Baffles

Wave profiles, angles, and custom-cut forms that make the ceiling the room's feature.

Beam and raft acoustic ceiling system

Beam & Grid Systems

Larger-section beams and intersecting grids for a structured, architectural look.

Acoustic baffle color program

Color & Pattern Programs

Single-color fields, gradients, and alternating patterns mapped to your brand palette.

Baffles coordinated with lighting

Lighting Coordination

Layouts planned around linear lighting so neither system fights the other.

Why This Is Quoted

No two projects price the same.

The baffles are the simple part. The ceiling is where the quote gets real, so we verify these on site before pricing.

01
Room size & acoustic targetSquare footage and reverberation goals set baffle count and density.
02
Baffle type & sizeFelt vs. wrapped, fin depth, and length change cost per unit.
03
Ceiling structureDeck type, joists, and attachment points determine the suspension method.
04
What's already up thereDucts, sprinklers, lights, and cable tray all shape and constrain the layout.
05
Mounting heightSuspension drop and ceiling height affect hardware and lift requirements.
06
Custom shapes & colorSculpted profiles and multi-color programs add fabrication cost.

Lift access & hoursOverhead work is lift work. Access and schedule drive labor.

How We Work

From first conversation to final walkthrough.

One team owns the project end to end. A single point of contact from consultation through punch list.

01

Consultation

We look at the space, listen to the problem, and set an acoustic and visual goal.

02

Site Review & Field Measure

We review structure, obstructions, and heights, and photograph everything overhead.

03

Design & Specification

Baffle layout and density, coordination around lighting and MEP, and finishes.

04

Quote & Approval

One complete quote: baffles, suspension, freight, and installation.

05

Delivery & Installation

Our crews install from lifts, level and aligned, then clean up and walk it with you.

Worth Thinking Through

Before you commit to a ceiling design.

Baffles vs. wall panels

Baffles win in big open volumes and where walls are unavailable. Wall panels win in small rooms and for first-reflection control. Many projects need both; we'll spec the mix honestly.

Sprinklers set the rules

Baffle layouts must respect sprinkler coverage and clearances. We design around them from the start, so the layout you approve is the layout that passes.

Lighting comes first or fights forever

Baffles cast shadows and occupy the lighting zone. Coordinating the two layouts up front avoids a ceiling that looks great and lights terribly.

Density is the performance dial

Spacing between baffles is the single biggest performance variable. Wider spacing saves money and gives up absorption. We'll show you the tradeoff in numbers.

Manufacturer Partners & Inspiration

Our baffle work draws on the systems and color programs of leading acoustic manufacturers. Their products anchor the specification. The layout design, ceiling verification, and installation are ours.

Questions We Hear

Ceiling Baffles FAQ

How much do ceiling baffles cost?+
Cost scales with baffle count, type, and installation access. A small cafe field and a full open-office ceiling are very different projects, which is why we quote rather than publish a price. Send room dimensions and a couple of ceiling photos and we'll return a real budget range.
How many baffles does my space need?+
It's calculated from room volume, surface materials, and your acoustic goal, then adjusted around lights, ducts, and sprinklers. Density is the design decision; we'll show you options.
Can baffles be installed in an occupied office?+
Yes, with planning. Overhead lift work above occupied desks needs protection and scheduling, so we routinely phase by zone or work after hours.
Do baffles work with an open, exposed ceiling?+
That's their natural habitat. Exposed structure gives us attachment points and visual contrast. Baffles often look best where there's no grid at all.
What about our sprinklers and lights?+
The layout is designed around both. We document sprinkler clearances and coordinate with your lighting plan before anything is ordered.
Do you handle the installation?+
Yes. Suspension, leveling, alignment, and cleanup, all by our crews with lifts. Overhead work is visible from everywhere in the room, and we treat it that way.
