A commercial furniture dealer manages the process from specification to installation: sourcing across multiple manufacturers, coordinating lead times, handling delivery, and overseeing the install. Does Parlor City work with government contracts or NYS OGS?

Yes. Parlor City is an authorized NYS OGS contractor under Group 20915 (Contract Furniture). State agencies, municipalities, public universities, and other government entities can purchase directly through the OGS contract without running a separate bid process. We handle the sourcing and paperwork.

How does the procurement process work from specification to installation?

Projects start with a brief or spec from a designer or end client. We source product options, prepare pricing proposals, manage purchase orders, coordinate lead times, and schedule delivery and installation. On larger projects, a dedicated project manager owns the schedule, vendor coordination, and client communication.

What's the difference between buying through a dealer and going direct to a manufacturer?

Manufacturers don't typically sell direct to end users on commercial projects. A dealer like Parlor City gives you access to hundreds of product lines, coordinates multi-vendor orders, manages logistics, and installs it and stands behind the result. We're your single point of contact so you're not chasing down five vendors on one project.

Do you work with architects and interior designers?

Yes. We work alongside architects and designers during specification to make sure products meet the design intent, timeline, and budget. We can provide samples, lead time estimates, and contract pricing at any stage of a project.

What happens after installation?

We follow up on punch list items, handle warranty claims or product issues, and stay available for additions and reconfigurations as needs change. A furniture project doesn't end at delivery. Most clients are on to their next phase within a year. We stay close so we're already in the conversation when that happens.
